FAQs

For Food Truck Owners, Food Truck Hosts, and Organizers of Food Truck Rallies, Rodeos, and Roundups:

Q: Why do I need to list my food truck/food truck event on Alexa?
A: Because your customers don't know how to find you. Some food trucks announce their locations on Facebook, some on Instagram, some on their websites, but there is no one place to find a comprehensive directory.
You can't rely on your social media posts showing up on your customers' feeds (unless you buy an ad). And all that searching and scrolling around – wouldn't it be fabulous and dead simple if your customers could just ask! Hands-free and everywhere you are, that's Where the Truck.
Q: Do I have to create a custom Alexa skill to get my food truck on Alexa? Do I have to find someone who knows how to code?
A: No! With Where the Truck, you can make your whereabouts available to Alexa users without the need for custom software development. Where the Truck is a subscription service that allows you to list as many food truck locations as you need, currently we offer this service free of charge.
Q: How do I get my food truck location info on Alexa?
A: Sign up here and start listing your locations right away. Your info will be available on Where the Truck's Alexa skill immediately.
Q: What does Where the Truck cost?
A: Where the Truck is currently free of charge (for cart, or other mobile food service operation) for unlimited listings.
Q: Does Where the Truck work with Google Home?
A: Integration with Google Home (and other platforms) will be up next in version 2.0 of Where the Truck.
Q: Does Where the Truck work outside the United States?
A: Right now Where the Truck only serves food truck listings within the United States.
Q: Can I cancel my subscription?
A: Yes, you can cancel at any time.
Q: How many hungry food truck fans do I have access to with Where the Truck?
A: Millions! More than 55 million Americans have a voice-enabled device, and Amazon's Alexa has captured more than 70 percent of the smart speaker market. By 2020, 75 percent of U.S. homes will have at least one voice-controlled device.
Q: How do I edit a listing I already submitted? Or, there's a hurricane coming (or the truck broke down) and I need to cancel my listing. Help!
A: Just give us a shout at at hello@wherethetruck.is and we'll take care of it.
